MSNBC Hit With IP Suit Over Michael Jackson Doc

Law360, New York (November 28, 2011, 9:51 PM EST) -- A would-be screenwriter lodged a copyright suit against MSNBC in a Texas federal court last week, accusing the cable network of ripping off his material for a film about the death of pop icon Michael Jackson.

Everett Watson brought the suit claiming that MSNBC’s controversial documentary “Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship,” in fact infringes on his own script, animated film and song lyrics about the King of Pop’s demise.
