As Defibrillator Trial Approaches, Guidant Falters

Law360 (July 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Guidant Corp. has appeared to struggle in the wake of a federal judge's crippling order denying the medical device maker's key argument for keeping the lawsuits over its implantable heart defibrillators out of court, giving rise to speculation that the company may move to settle, as the first bellwether trial gets set to kick off this month.
