Celebrex, Bextra Claims Withstand Judge's Scrutiny

Law360 (July 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The judge overseeing the massive products liability litigation over anti-inflammatory pain medications Celebrex and Bextra has rejected Pfizer Inc.'s request to have several of the claims at the heart of the case dismissed, ruling that the bulk of the plaintiffs' case should proceed.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer denied the defendants' motion to dismiss the state consumer protection claims and the unjust enrichment claims, swayed by the plaintiffs' arguments that the group had standing to bring such allegations.
