Ex-Army Captain Gets 15 Months For Contract Bribes

Law360, Chicago (December 12, 2011, 7:37 PM EST) -- A one-time U.S. Army National Guard captain was sentenced Monday in Illinois federal court to 15 months in prison after copping to charges that he pulled in at least $115,000 in bribes from military contractors while he was deployed in Afghanistan.

U.S. District Judge Matthew F. Kennelly also ordered John Mihalczo to pay $115,000 in restitution pursuant to the sealed plea agreement the defendant inked in June 2009, under which he pled guilty to taking bribes while serving as a contracting officer's representative and a motor...
