Record Label Gets Ja Rule's Royalty Suit Wiped Out

Law360, New York (December 14, 2011, 5:48 PM EST) -- Hip-hop artist Ja Rule on Wednesday lost his bid to hold Rich Kid Music Inc. responsible for alleged fraud and stolen royalties, after a New York federal judge tossed his suit due to a lack of subject matter jurisdiction.

U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein noted in his order that he had not ruled on the merits of the case. Ja Rule's attorney Jon Jekielek of Jekielek & Janis LLP said the case would be refiled in New York state court.
