DOD To Require US-Made Solar Devices In Contracts

Law360, New York (December 20, 2011, 7:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense proposed Tuesday to require, with some exceptions, that government contractors use American-made photovoltaic devices on energy-related contracts that call for them.

In an interim rule published in the Federal Register, the Pentagon proposed that contractors performing energy savings, utility service or private housing contracts comply with the Buy American Act when purchasing photovoltaic devices.
