Broker Beats Trademark Suit Over ‘Selling NY’ Furniture

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 4:58 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Thursday tossed a suit that claimed real estate broker Core Group Marketing LLC infringed Heptagon Creations Ltd.'s trademarks by digitally adding Heptagon furniture to an apartment featured on the reality show “Selling New York.”

Heptagon, whose minimalist Andre Joyau line of furniture graces the offices of Playboy and has won an endorsement from fashion designer Donna Karan, claimed Core infringed its trade dress and copyrights by adding virtual Heptagon furniture to a “Selling New York” segment.
