Louis Vuitton Sues Over Knockoff Bag In 'The Hangover'

Law360, Los Angeles (December 23, 2011, 4:03 PM EST) -- Louis Vuitton Malletier SA on Thursday slapped Warner Bros. Inc. with a trademark suit in New York federal court, claiming the movie “The Hangover: Part II” features a knockoff version of one of its designer bags.

The lawsuit centers around the opening scene in the movie when a character played by actor Zach Galifianakis claims to be carrying a Louis Vuitton bag through an airport. But the bag, which bears the designer's LVM mark, is actually an imposter made by a counterfeiter Louis Vuitton is attempting...
