Apartment Manager Imposed Illegal Late Fees: Tenants

Law360, New York (January 5, 2012, 4:30 PM EST) -- Apartment operator PAMA Management Co. and its realty subsidiary Nijjar Realty Inc. were hit Tuesday with a putative class action in California court claiming the company unlawfully imposed thousands of $50 late fees.

El Monte, Calif.-based PAMA manages more than 10,000 residential units in apartment buildings and single-family homes across Southern California, many of which are low-income properties, according to plaintiffs lawyer Ira Spiro of Spiro Moss LLP.
