Exxon To Put "Hot Fuel" Warning On Some Pumps

Law360, New York (July 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. will reportedly start putting decal stickers on gasoline pumps in California and Arizona, warning that “hot fuel” gives customers less energy for their money—an issue at the heart of a slew of class actions targeting the oil giant and others in the industry.

Exxon likely decided to add the warning signs at petrol stations in order to avoid the fraudulent and defective sales allegations in the class actions, said the Foundation for Taxpayer & Consumer Rights, a California-based nonpartisan advocacy organization. The group...
