Bin Laden Family's Construction Co. Exits 9/11 MDL

Law360, New York (January 11, 2012, 6:06 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday dismissed an engineering and construction firm owned by Osama bin Laden's family from multidistrict litigation over the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, citing a lack of jurisdiction.

In the MDL, families of the attack victims accuse a slew of individuals, organizations and countries of aiding and sponsoring bin Laden and his terrorist organization al-Qaida. U.S. District Judge George Daniels dismissed Saudi Binladin Group from the MDL after finding the court could not exercise general or specific jurisdiction over the company....
