Oracle Damage Claims Bring Latest Delay In Google IP Row

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 4:52 PM EST) -- A California federal judge said Thursday that he will not set a trial date for Oracle America Inc.'s patent and copyright suit against Google Inc. over the Android operating system until Oracle adopts a proper methodology for calculating potential damages.

“For this 'delay,' Oracle has no one to blame but itself, given that twice now it has advanced improper methodologies obviously calculated to reach stratospheric numbers,” U.S. District Judge William Alsup said in a ruling.
