Topps Drops IP Suit Over Rival's Baseball Card Ad

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 4:31 PM EST) -- Trading card giant The Topps Co. Inc. settled a dispute with competitor Leaf Trading Cards LLC on Friday in New York over claims that a Leaf ad featuring classic Topps trading cards infringed its copyrights and trademarks.

U.S. District Judge Deborah A. Batts approved a stipulation of voluntary dismissal with prejudice and without costs to Topps or Leaf, dismissing all claims and counterclaims between the companies. An attorney for Leaf confirmed the confidential settlement but declined to comment on its terms.
