New Gupta Indictment Expands Alleged Insider Scheme

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 5:32 PM EST) -- A grand jury handed down a new indictment Tuesday in the government's case against Rajat Gupta that expanded the length of the ex-Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director's alleged involvement in an insider trading scheme led by Galleon Group founder Raj Rajaratnam.

The number of counts, filed in New York federal court, remains the same, at one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and five counts of securities fraud, but two new trades are added — one involving Goldman Sachs Group Inc. shares in March 2007...
