Halliburton, KBR Want Firefighter Wage Suit Thrown Out

Law360, Washington (February 8, 2012, 7:03 PM EST) -- Government contractors Halliburton Co. and KBR Inc. said Monday they should not be targeted in an overtime pay class action brought by firefighters who worked in Iraq and Afghanistan, arguing the only legitimate lawsuit target is the subcontractor who hired the workers.

The contractors said in a motion for dismissal, filed in Washington federal court, that the plaintiffs failed to show how they could be liable for issues stemming from the firefighters' employment with subcontractor Wackenhut Services International.
