Oracle Patents At Heart Of Google IP War Rejected

Law360, New York (February 23, 2012, 7:28 PM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office has rejected two Oracle America Inc. patents that were asserted in Oracle's ongoing battle with Google Inc. over the Android smartphone operating system, and has indicated it would do the same with a third, according to court filings Wednesday.

The USPTO rejected all asserted claims for U.S. Patent Numbers 5,966,702 and 6,910,205, according to a joint statement filed by attorneys for Oracle and Google. The patent office also tentatively rejected claims asserted in U.S. Patent Number RE38,104, the parties said....
