Brokers Settle Sex Bias Suit With Smith Barney

Law360, New York (August 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of female brokers has settled a long-running sex discrimination case against Citigroup Inc.'s Smith Barney division, the monetary terms of which remain confidential.

Smith Barney counsel Jay Cohen of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP refused to comment on the settlement Wednesday but papers filed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California reveal the parties have reached “substantive agreements” on the monetary terms.
