NY Lawyer Jailed In $82M Hamptons Mortgage Fraud

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 6:00 PM EST) -- A New York attorney was sentenced Monday in state court to four to 12 years of prison for his role in an $82 million mortgage fraud scheme involving properties in New York and the Hamptons that later defaulted.

Donald MacPherson received the sentence and a $44 million restitution judgment after pleading guilty Nov. 16 in Suffolk County District Court to 45 counts, including grand larceny and insurance fraud.
