Former 'Charlie Rose' Intern Sues Over Lack Of Wages

Law360, New York (March 14, 2012, 7:04 PM EDT) -- A former intern on PBS' “The Charlie Rose Show” slapped the show's host and Charlie Rose Inc. with a putative class action in New York on Wednesday, claiming that they misclassified workers as unpaid interns to minimize labor costs.

Plaintiff Lucy Bickerton said she was employed as an unpaid intern on the show in the summer of 2007 and regularly worked 25 hours a week with no pay. In New York state, an unpaid internship is only lawful in the context of an educational training program...
