9th Circ. Keeps Alive Hendricks' Pursuit Of Funkadelic Royalties

Law360, New York (March 15, 2012, 7:48 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit on Wednesday refused to toss Hendricks & Lewis PLLC’s bid to gain access to funk icon George Clinton's royalty rights as an alternative means of recovering $1.7 million in legal fees from the musician.

The appeals court denied Clinton's motion to have the appeal dismissed in a one-page order that did not explain the court's rationale for rejecting the musician's argument that Hendricks lacked jurisdiction to bring its interlocutory appeal.

Representatives for the parties were not immediately available for comment Thursday.
