Busy Google Atty Can't Delay Oracle IP Trial

Law360, New York (March 20, 2012, 7:05 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday confirmed the trial date in Oracle America Inc.'s patent and copyright infringement suit against Google Inc. over the Android operating system, denying a Google attorney's bid to postpone the trial because of other commitments.

The order puts a stop to a scheduling back-and-forth that began March 14 when Robert Van Nest, Google's lead counsel, filed a letter asking U.S. District Judge William Alsup to reschedule an April 16 trial start date, claiming he was scheduled to argue two other cases...
