Philip Morris Loses Bid To Decertify Smokers Class

Law360, Los Angeles (March 22, 2012, 7:59 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Wednesday refused Philip Morris USA Inc.'s bid to decertify a class of smokers seeking to force the cigarette maker to pay for medical monitoring to detect early signs of lung cancer, ruling that a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision stiffening certification standards doesn't derail the plaintiffs case.
