Judge Sides With Verizon, Sprint In Insurance Spat

Law360, New York (August 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Telecommunications providers Verizon and Sprint have been awarded $1 million by a Manhattan judge, ending a dispute over insurance for damaged underground cables.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Theodore Katz granted the companies' joint motion for summary judgment against Rutgers Casualty Insurance Co., on Monday, after the New Jersey insurer withheld the $1 million payout.
