Judge To Keep Suit Over Paramount's Movie Profits In Calif.

Law360, Los Angeles (April 3, 2012, 4:39 PM EDT) -- A California judge indicated Tuesday that he would refuse Paramount Pictures Corp.'s bid to adjudicate a breach of contract suit in New York that accuses the studio of shortchanging investors who shelled out $375 million to help finance the production of dozens of films including "Transformers."

California Superior Court Judge Michael P. Linfield said in a tentative ruling that a forum selection clause in a production agreement between Paramount and Melrose Investors 2 LP isn't mandatory and doesn't include language saying the complaint must be litigated...
