Plaintiffs Make 2nd Bid To Split LCD Price-Fixing Trial

Law360, New York (April 16, 2012, 4:05 PM EDT) -- Direct purchasers on Friday moved to divide an upcoming trial against liquid-crystal display manufacturers including Toshiba Corp. and LG Display Co. Ltd. over alleged price-fixing, arguing that federal and state antitrust claims in the multidistrict litigation should be dealt with separately.

Also, on Friday, the Ninth Circuit denied a writ of mandamus filed by LG and AU Optronics Corp. seeking to decertify a class of indirect purchasers, saying the companies failed to demonstrated that the case warranted the extraordinary intervention of the appeals court.
