Schumer Urges US To Finalize WTC Lease Deal

Law360, New York (April 18, 2012, 4:36 PM EDT) -- Concerned that a failure to execute a lease for federal agencies to move into 1 World Trade Center could scare away other potential tenants, U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., applied pressure Wednesday on the General Services Administration to get the deal — potentially worth hundreds of millions of dollars — done.

Initially, the 20-year government lease was reported to be for 600,000 square feet inside the massive tower nearing completion in lower Manhattan, but that figure later was scaled back to 300,000 square feet.
