Sony, Others Can't Nix Conspiracy Claims In Disk Drive MDL

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 8:17 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Thursday rejected dismissal bids by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Sony Corp. and others in multidistrict antitrust litigation over optical disk drives, leaving amended claims narrowing the scope of the alleged price-fixing conspiracy intact.

U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg shot down motions to dismiss amended putative class actions from both indirect and direct purchasers, and told the defendants to file answers within 45 days.
