Texas Medical Supply Firm Owners Admit Medicare Kickbacks

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 7:40 PM EDT) -- Owners of two medical equipment firms in Texas pled guilty Tuesday to charges they violated federal anti-kickback law by funneling cash to a health care center in exchange for referrals of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.

Jose "Joe" Trevino, 44, of Weslaco, Texas, copped to one felony count of conspiracy in connection with money he paid as proprietor of Med-Quick Diagnostics, a medical supply and diagnostic testing company.

Pedro "Pete" Medrano, 46, also of Weslaco, entered a guilty plea on the same charge in relation to funds...
