Olympians Say Samsung App Violates Image Rights

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- Famous U.S. Olympic athletes, including swimming legends Mark Spitz and Janet Evans, accused Samsung Corp. in California on Wednesday of violating their name and image rights and diluting their own brands with its newest Facebook application.

Track and field athlete Jackie Joyner-Kersee and swimmer Aaron Perisol and other sports superstars claim that Samsung’s new Facebook application, dubbed the U.S. Olympic Genome Project, features their likenesses without their permission.
