Judge Tosses More Plaintiffs From Celebrex Case

Law360, New York (August 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Yet more plaintiffs have been dismissed from the massive product liability litigation over pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc.'s controversial anti-inflammatory drugs Bextra and Celebrex.

Three weeks after U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer tossed out the complaints of five plaintiffs, the court ordered the removal of nine more cases from the multidistrict litigation.

Papers filed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday do not indicate why the cases were dropped from the MDL. According to the orders, two were dismissed voluntarily and...
