Gender Bias Suit Morphs Into Massive Class Action

Law360, New York (August 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A one-person gender discrimination lawsuit against pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis has been expended into a massive proposed class action that is seeking over $300 million.

If granted class status, the class will consist of at least 5,000 former and current female employees who were allegedly subjected to such things as disparate pay, differential treatment, gender hostility and retaliation in the workplace, according to a lawyer for the plaintiffs.
