Grant Thornton Dropped From Tax Shelter Case

Law360 (September 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP has been dismissed as a defendant in a case against a group of law firms, accountants and financial advisors accused of hoodwinking a New Jersey couple into claiming illegal tax benefits.

Manhattan district judge Lewis Kaplan signed off on the order, published Friday, dismissing the case against Grant Thornton with prejudice.
