Yahoo, FindWhat Patent Dispute Ends In Mistrial

Law360, New York (May 12, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in California has declared a mistrial in a patent lawsuit brought by Yahoo!’s Overture Services unit against search engine and advised the two companies to try to work out a settlement.

Judge Cormac J. Carney in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California declared a mistrial after a jury was unable to reach a verdict in the case.

A hearing on whether the patent is unenforceable because of “inequitable conduct committed by Overture,” as well as on other motions,...
