Google Scoops Up Social Site Meebo

Law360, New York (June 5, 2012, 4:01 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. will bring social sharing site Meebo into its fold in an effort to boost engagement and reinvigorate interest in its lagging Google Plus social network, Google confirmed Tuesday.

In adding Meebo to its toolbox, Google augments the capabilities of its fledgling social network. Though highly touted when it launched last year, Google Plus has not come remotely close to matching its behemoth rival, Facebook. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
