Ex-McKinsey Director Kumar Dodges Jail In Raj Tipping Case

Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 3:17 PM EDT) -- Anil Kumar, a former McKinsey & Co. director who passed insider information to Raj Rajaratnam, was sentenced to probation Thursday after prosecutors lauded his "extraordinary” cooperation in the landmark cases against Rajaratnam and Rajat Gupta.

Kumar, 53, was also ordered to pay $2.26 million in restitution and a $25,000 fine for tipping Rajaratnam about McKinsey clients from 2004 to 2009, criminal scheming that turned to cooperation immediately after Kumar's Oct. 16, 2009, arrest.
