Judge Won't Stop Aereo From Sharing Live, Copyrighted TV

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 8:52 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday refused to ban Aereo Inc. from letting its users access live, copyrighted television programming online, saying the Second Circuit's 2008 Cablevision ruling supports the legality of Aereo's services.

U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan said that Aereo's system, like Cablevision's remote storage digital video recorder in Cartoon Network LP v.
