Soldier Sues General Dynamics Over Gun Malfunction

Law360, New York (July 12, 2012, 6:20 PM EDT) -- A retired U.S. Army soldier has sued defense contractors General Dynamics Corp. and Alliant Techsystems Inc. in New Jersey, looking to hold them responsible for an alleged machine gun malfunction that seriously injured him while he was stationed in Afghanistan.

Sean P. McMahon's June 29 complaint accuses Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics of defectively designing and manufacturing the Browning M2 .50-caliber machine gun. He claims Alliant, which is based in Arlington, Va., defectively designed and made the gun's ammunition.
