Nexstar Says Time Warner Rebroadcasts Without Consent

Law360, New York (July 17, 2012, 3:39 PM EDT) -- Nexstar Broadcasting Inc. on Monday sued Time Warner Cable Inc. for copyright infringement and breach of contract, claiming the cable provider retransmits broadcast signals from several of Nexstar's TV stations without authorization.

Nexstar claims Time Warner rebroadcasts to far-off markets, through its cable systems, signals that contain local news programs produced by Nexstar, national programs licensed from networks NBC and CBS, and syndicated programing licensed from third parties.
