Time Warner Urges End To Hospital Internet Discount In Texas

Law360, Dallas (August 14, 2012, 7:23 PM EDT) -- Time Warner Cable Inc. and the Texas Cable Association urged Texas lawmakers on Tuesday to halt or phase out a rule that gives hospitals discounted broadband Internet access, saying it unfairly curbs competition.

In an interim hearing on the telecommunications market, the Texas Senate Business and Commerce Committee heard from cable and Internet companies that said a rate cap of cost plus 10 percent should be eliminated in the 2013 legislative session.
