High Court Seeks U.S. Brief On AT&T ERISA Case

Law360, New York (October 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court asked the U.S. solicitor general on Monday to file a brief in a class action that accuses communications giant AT&T Corp. of wrongly reducing the size of its employees' pensions.

In its first order following a recess, the court said only that the solicitor general was “invited” to file a brief “expressing the views of the United States.” The request indicates interest in the case, though the court has not yet agreed to hear it.
