Cendant CEO Loses Appeal, Sentenced To 12 Years

Law360 (October 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court on Monday upheld a district court's 12-year prison sentence for Walter Forbes, former CEO of Cendant Corp., who was accused of orchestrating one of the largest accounting fraud cases ever brought before a U.S. court.

Forbes had said in appealing his sentence that the Connecticut district court that sentenced him had abused its discretion by allowing the U.S. government to deny him due process during the trial.
