MGM Settles Contract Suit Over 'Raging Bull' Sequel

Law360, Los Angeles (August 1, 2012, 7:41 PM EDT) -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. on Wednesday said it will drop a lawsuit against boxing icon Jake LaMotta and a production company over rights for a planned sequel to the acclaimed 1980 film “Raging Bull.”

MGM said it has reached a settlement with LaMotta and RB Production II LLC which is in the process of producing a movie based on “Raging Bull II,” a book based on the former middleweight champion's life.
