ITC Ends Probe In Patent Dispute Between Ciena, Nortel

Law360 (July 7, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has terminated its investigation into whether Nortel Networks Corp. infringed several patents held by rival Ciena Corp., the telecommunications equipment supplier said Thursday.

The latest development follows a preliminary injunction, issued by the U.S. District Court in Marshall, Texas, barring Ciena from participating in or pursuing the ITC action, and requiring Ciena to seek termination of the investigation by the ITC, Nortel said.
