Carnival Faces $400M Suit Over Costa Concordia Wreck Death

Law360, New York (August 7, 2012, 2:05 PM EDT) -- The family of a Hungarian violinist killed in the Costa Concordia wreck off the coast of Italy has sued Carnival Corp. for $400 million, alleging the company is liable for the man’s death through its failure to properly ensure the safety of the ship, crew and passengers.

So far, Carnival has been hit with a class action on behalf of passengers, another lawsuit on behalf of passengers and crew, and an investigation by French prosecutors in the aftermath of the January wreck, which killed 32 people...
