Owner Of Historic Bronx Theater Confronts Tenants Over Scam

Law360, New York (August 9, 2012, 6:53 PM EDT) -- The owner of the historic Loew's Paradise Theater in the Bronx on Wednesday accused two shareholders of the theater's operator, Dabriel Inc., of fraudulently transferring at least $500,000 to themselves instead of paying Dabriel's rent and other debts.

The First Paradise Theaters Corp. alleged that between February 2011 and July of this year, Shelby Joyner and Derrick Sanders, de facto shareholders of Dabriel, used the lessee company as their own private account, diverting funds meant to pay off creditors to their own pockets.
