Dick's Sporting Goods Landlord Sues For $1.2M In Back Rent

Law360, New York (August 13, 2012, 6:25 PM EDT) -- A New York-based landlord on Monday sued Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. for $1.2 million in rent it claims Dick's owes on sales receipts from a Western Pennsylvania store, including a portion it subleased to a company later bought by electronics giant Best Buy Corp.

Somerville Toledo LP says Dick's is obligated to pay 1 percent of sales proceeds on top of its base rent. Under the terms of the lease for the Coraopolis, Pa., location, that includes any revenue from subleases.
