NYC Club Owners, Employees Settle Dispute Over Tips

Law360, New York (August 15, 2012, 2:16 PM EDT) -- A group of former tipped workers at New York nightclubs Hiro Ballroom and Cabanas on Tuesday reached a $925,000 settlement with famed restaurateurs and club owners Eric Goode and Sean MacPherson, ending allegations that tips were unlawfully doled out to managers and other nonservice employees.

U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Griesa signed off on the order granting preliminary approval to the settlement agreement, conditionally certifying the class as all tipped employees employed by BD StanHope LLC who worked at Hiro Ballroom and Cabanas located at the...
