Judge Frees Military Simulators From Race-Based Contracts Law

Law360, New York (August 16, 2012, 1:50 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Wednesday said that the military simulation and training industry isn't subject to a federal law that limits certain contracts to minority-owned businesses, but he ruled that the law as a whole is still constitutional.

U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan said that U.S. Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Defense cannot use the provisions in Section 8 of the Small Business Act in the military simulation industry because the government didn't show that it has a history of discrimination....
