Facebook's Data Sharing Calls For Damages, 9th Circ. Hears

Law360, New York (August 17, 2012, 9:35 PM EDT) -- A Facebook Inc. user urged the Ninth Circuit on Monday to revive a putative class action accusing the social networking site of improperly sharing consumers' personal information with advertisers, arguing he had suffered quantifiable damages through the misuse of his valuable information.

In his opening brief, Mike Robertson contended that the appeals court should reverse the Northern District of California's November dismissal of the suit, which brings claims for breach of contract, fraud, and violations of the Stored Communications Act and California law based on Facebook...
