AdSense Feature Could Hurt YouTube Copyright Case

Law360, New York (October 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Google Inc.'s newly declared AdSense feature, which allows Web sites to target YouTube videos with embedded ads, may end up hurting the search engine in courts as it seeks to defend itself from copyright holders, lawyers say.

The company announced its new content-distribution channel Wednesday, saying that the ability of video units on AdSense would “better connect content providers with consumers to give publishers new ways to further engage their audiences.”
